A24’s ‘All Dirt Roads Taste Of Salt’ trailer is one of the most beautiful you’ll see this year

Two people embrace on a porch.

Raven Johnson’s debut feature, All Dirt Roads Taste Of Salt, has a brand new trailer from A24 and it’s stunning in itself.

Having shown at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and headed for the New York Film Festival, the film promises a tender, moving, and rich look at generations of Black family life in America’s South, focusing on a woman’s experience living for decades in rural Mississippi.

The protagonist, Mack, is played by Kaylee Nicole Johnson, Charleen McClure, and Zainab Jah over the course of her life, and the trailer begins in the ’70s, with a scene of her (Johnson) being taught how to fish by her father, Isaiah (Chris Chalk), as a kid. The cast also includes Moses Ingram as Mack’s sister Josie, Sheila Atim as Mack’s mother Evelyn, and Reginald Helms Jr. as a past love.

Produced by Moonlight‘s Barry Jenkins alongside Adele Romanski, Mark Ceryak, and Maria Altamirano, this is one to put on your calendars — and it’s certainly one of the most beautiful trailers of the year in all that 35mm splendour.

All Dirt Roads Taste Of Salt is in cinemas this autumn.
