Apple Vision Pro: Watch the preinstalled demo that helps you create a digital avatar

Apple Vision Pro

A friendly reminder that the $ 3,500 Apple’s Vision Pro headset really isn’t that far away.

Set to launch in early 2024, the ambitious (and expensive) device already has an active software beta for people to look at. That’s how a pair of onboarding videos appeared on X this week, courtesy of user @M1Astra. In the videos, you can get a basic idea of how Apple will train new users on using the Vision Pro whenever it gets into people’s hands.

First off, there’s a quick clip detailing how eye tracking and hand inputs work on Vision Pro.

After that, there’s a slightly more interesting video about creating your “Persona” — or the digital representation of yourself that other people will see while interacting with you. Setting it up looks like it only takes a few seconds and seems to be pretty similar to setting up Face Unlock on any given smartphone. Look left, look right, etc.

It’s pretty elementary stuff, but it’s at least sort of cool to see what everyone will see when they buy the Visio Pro next year. Or, at least, everyone with $ 3,499 to spare.
