Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs get bloody in ‘The Crow’ trailer

A man with black makeup around his eyes stares in a mirror.

Murder. Bloody rampages. Questionable tattoos. These are just a taste of what awaits in the trailer for The Crow.

Directed by Rupert Sanders, The Crow is less a remake of the original 1994 movie and more of a modern reimagining of the source comics by James O’Barr. The film follows soulmates Eric Draven (Bill Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs), who are brutally murdered by shadowy figures from Shelley’s past (including a menacing Danny Huston). But this is just the beginning of their story.

Instead of dying outright, Eric gets a chance to save Shelley from beyond the grave. With a guiding crow to help him, he’ll walk between the land of the living and the dead, dealing out brutal retribution along the way. And I mean brutal — count how many times Skarsgård gets shot in the trailer alone to see what I’m talking about.

The Crow hits theaters June 7.
