‘Cat Person’ trailer teases an unsettling adaptation of viral short story

A man stands talking to a woman.

Kristen Roupenian’s viral 2017 short story Cat Person is finally coming to the big screen, and the trailer looks every bit as unsettling as its source material.

Susanna Fogel’s adaptation follows college student Margot (CODA‘s Emilia Jones) as she meets older man Robert (Succession‘s Nicholas Braun). The two get together, things go badly, and the seemingly nice Robert quickly reveals he has a much uglier side.

The film was adapted by Masters of Sex writer Michelle Ashford and also stars Geraldine Viswanathan, Hope Davis, Fred Melamed, Liza Koshy, Michael Gandolfini, and Isabella Rossellini.

Cat Person is in theatres Oct. 26.
