Kieran Culkin reacts perfectly to Pedro Pascal’s Emmys speech burn

Two side-by-side images show a man sitting in an audience with a deadpan, serious face and then the same man laughing in the next image.

When he picked up his Golden Globe for Succession last week, Kieran Culkin used his speech to direct a cheeky burn at one of his rivals in the category, Pedro Pascal.

But during Monday night’s Emmy Awards, Pascal had his revenge.

While announcing the nominations for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, the Last of Us star took to the stage with his right arm in a sling.

“Before we get into the nominees for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, I’d like to take just a second and make this about me. A lot of people have been asking about my arm – it’s actually my shoulder – and I think tonight is a perfect time to tell everyone that Kieran Culkin beat the shit out of me.”

Cue the camera cutting to Culkin in the audience, where he gave a deadpan reaction that was every bit as perfect as Pascal’s reaction a week ago.

This is the love/hate relationship we all need to see blossom into a show or movie.
