The first 15-inch MacBook Air hit the market less than a year ago, but it’s already time to say goodbye.

As of March 4, Apple has removed the 15-inch M2 Air from their online store following the announcement of the new 13-inch and 15-inch M3 MacBook Airs. Though you can no longer get it through the Apple Store, the 15-inch M2 Air is still available at Best Buy and B&H Photo — and it’s on sale for $ 200 off at both retailers.

To be clear, this isn’t the lowest price we’ve ever seen on this laptop. That honor would go to the $ 300 off deal Best Buy was running on it a few weeks back. However, this is one of the most expansive deals we’ve seen, as multiple configurations are on sale with different memory and built-in storage sizes available.

We love the MacBook Air for its expansive and sharp display, which is especially useful for anyone who does any sort of multimedia editing or frequently works with a dual-screen view. Mashable Tech Editor Kimberly Gedeon was also a fan of the laptop’s “massive touchpad,” impressive battery life, and six speaker sound system that she describes in her review as, “crisp, clear and warm – even at max volume (and it gets pretty loud).”

Why we like it

The MacBook Air model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage space has rarely gone on sale since it was released last summer, despite the fact that it’s the configuration of this laptop that makes sense for most people. If you’re opting for a 15-inch Air, you already might be looking for something a bit more hefty than an entry-level laptop, so you won’t want to be held back by limited memory and storage space. For people who will take advantage of the larger display for audio or video editing, these specs are more in line with your needs, yet still more reasonably priced than say, a $ 1,500 MacBook Pro with a smaller display and less memory.
